The Overseas Community Affairs Council has held the Chinese Language Journalism Award for Overseas Media with the aim of introducing Taiwan and its people to the world.
At the award ceremony Wednesday, council head Tung Chen-yuan said that the award aims to encourage overseas media to cover Taiwanese people promoting good causes and their life for an international audience. Tung said the award will enable the world to see Taiwan’s cultural diversity while deepening the links between Taiwan and its overseas community.
Tung also said that the council is planning to organize a summit for global Chinese language media next October if the COVID-19 pandemic has ended by then. The summit will serve as a platform to promote exchanges and cooperation.
