A photo exhibit featuring the Greater Taipei area from the 1960s to 1980s is under way at Fu Jen University.
An exhibit called “Old Photographs of Taipei” kicked off Monday at Fujen University. It features 26 historical photos collected by the National Museum of History. On display are photos of religious processions, people washing clothes in a river, a Taiwanese opera actress breastfeeding her baby, among other subjects.
Fujen University President Chiang Han-sun said the exhibit enables students and teachers to see what Taiwan was like from the 60s to the 80s. Chiang said it’s great to be able to revisit that period in history and the places where people grew up.
Photos of rice paddies and farmers allow the public to have a glimpse at Taiwan’s past agricultural society.
The photo exhibit, sponsored by the National Museum of History and Fujen University, will run through January 25.
