The defense ministry says Taiwan’s defense strategies and their implementation remain unchanged. That’s the word from Defense Ministry Spokesman Shih Shun-wen on Tuesday.
Shih said the military’s defense strategies, multilateral deterrence and beach-landing skills have not changed. However, with the acquisition of new weaponry and its aim of defense self-sufficiency, Shih said the military will adjust its strategies to keep up with changing situations.
He also accused China of jeopardizing regional and cross-strait peace by sending aircraft and vessels near Taiwan. He said Beijing’s provocations have led to resentment from the Taiwanese people.
Shih also said the military is closely monitoring China’s incursions, such as its aircraft entering Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ). He said the military is determined and capable of ensuring Taiwan’s security and territorial integrity.
