The interior ministry released population statistics showing that Taiwan’s population shrank during 2020. According to the statistics, Taiwan saw over 170,000 deaths in 2020, but only a little over 165,000 births.
Interior ministry statistics show that the overall size of Taiwan’s population has shrunk by close to 42,000 since 2019, a decline of 0.18%.
