The foreign ministry says Taiwan will continue deepening its partnership with the Biden administration. That’s the word from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) spokeswoman Joanne Ou on Tuesday.
US President-elect Joe Biden is set to take office on January 20. The inaugural ceremony, however, will be scaled down due to safety concerns and fears over the transmission of COVID-19.
Ou said the government will closely cooperate with the Biden administration on the existing basis of firm and friendly ties. She said Taiwan’s envoy to the US, Hsiao Bi-khim, will offer Taiwan’s congratulations in a “most suitable way.”
