President Tsai Ing-wen says she hopes that Taiwan and the United States will continue deepening their partnership based on existing friendly ties. That was in a tweet early Thursday morning.
Tsai tweeted her congratulations to US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on their inauguration. She wrote “we wish you and your administration every success. Taiwan stands ready to work with you as a global force for good.”
In a statement released by the Presidential Office on the same day, President Tsai said that the United States is Taiwan’s most important partner in the international community. She also said that close cooperation between the two sides in politics, trade, security, and culture have made positive contributions to regional peace, stability and prosperity.
