Taiwan has reported two new domestic cases of COVID-19, both linked to the recent outbreak at Taoyuan General Hospital. The new cases bring the total number associated with that outbreak to twelve.

The first of the two infected patients is a man in his nineties who was receiving treatment in the Taoyuan hospital at the time of the outbreak. Authorities believe he was infected by a nurse who cared for him before she tested positive. The man lives with three others, two of whom are his primary caregivers. Authorities already considered both to be contacts of the nurse, and so both have already taken tests, which came out negative.

The second infected patient is a woman who delivered meals to the first patient during his stay in hospital.

Taiwan also reported six new imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday. The patients arrived from Cameroon, Indonesia, and the Philippines. One tested positive upon arrival, while the other five tested positive while in quarantine.
