Taiwan’s top government watchdog body, the Control Yuan, celebrated the 90th anniversary of its establishment on Friday. Control Yuan President Chen Chu said that this is not only a time to reflect on the Control Yuan’s past accomplishments, but more importantly a time to plan for the future.
Chen says that since the establishment of the National Human Rights Commission last August, the Control Yuan has also taken on the important mission of promoting and protecting human rights.
Chen also presented a plan to transform the Control Yuan through digitization and said that as of January 1 this year, impeachment cases can be brought before court using online services in order to enhance efficiency.
