Several industry groups have teamed up with the academic and the business sector to form an alliance that will further smart manufacturing.
The newly-formed alliance aims to turn Taiwan into a high-end manufacturing center in Asia, diversifying its big-name manufacturers beyond just the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, the world’s largest chipmaker.
The alliance was organized by the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association.
Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry Chairman Ko Pa-hsi, who is also the alliance’s head, said on Tuesday the alliance will create more smart manufacturing applications, create a roadmap for automotive electronics and compound semiconductors, and advance digital transformation and interdisciplinary cooperation.
