The defense ministry said on Tuesday that the military will remain on guard and monitor all of China’s movements during the Lunar New Year holiday. The holiday begins on Wednesday and ends next Tuesday. It is the longest and biggest national holiday of the year in Taiwan.
In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year holidays, Chinese warplanes continued to enter Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone and even fly past the median line of the Taiwan Strait.
During a national security meeting on Tuesday morning, President Tsai also assured the public that the military will be on guard over the holiday.
