Tuesday marks the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday. President Tsai Ing-wen reminded people heading home at the end of the holiday to be careful while travelling before getting back to work on Wednesday.
Tsai called on travelers to pay attention to traffic information. She advised those who are driving to leave early and drive safely. She reminded people to continue washing their hands frequently and wearing masks. She also reminded people not to eat or drink on the High Speed Rail, on Taiwan Railways trains, or on intercity buses. The president called for Taiwanese people to work together to maintain Taiwan’s hard-earned success in staving off COVID-19.
Tsai called for people to remain vigilant, even though Taiwan has reported zero new cases of COVID-19 for the last three days.
