It says that the situation is highly unstable.
Taiwan’s representative office in Myanmar is asking Taiwanese businesses and residents in the area to take measures to safeguard their property. It says people should remain indoors and avoid protests. The office is also asking Taiwanese nationals to get in contact with Taiwanese officials and follow updates on the office’s official website.
The foreign ministry says that in case of emergency, nationals in Myanmar and their relatives can contact authorities via a dedicated telephone line.
