Hon Hai Technology Group is on the verge of signing a new contract with the state of Wisconsin. That was the word from a recent WISN report. Hon Hai manufactures much of the world’s electronics, including Apple products.
The report said the company would outline the number and types of jobs it would create in the state in the next five years and make it eligible for taxpayer incentives.
Last year, Hon Hai began building two facilities in state’s science and technology park, including a High Performance Computing Data Center. Hon Hai said it may soon become a top manufacturer of data infrastructure in the state. The facilities should be completed early this year.
From 2018 to 2020, over 3,200 employees have been involved in the construction of the facilities, and over 90% are state residents.
Hon Hai has invested US$850 million in infrastructure and signed over 200 contracts. Over 90% of the contracts have been signed with local businesses. Wisconsin State Assembly Speaker Robin Vos said that Hon Hai is the largest taxpayer in Mt. Pleasant and Racine County.
