The Kaohsiung City Government has decided to invest NT$500 million to upgrade the Shou Shan Zoo. After more than 40 years of history, the zoo is getting new areas, art installations, and much more for families to enjoy.
The home of Kaohsiung’s meerkats and llamas - the Shou Shan Zoo - is getting renovated to the tune of NT$500 million (about US$18 million).
The zoo is creating many animal art installations that people can take photos with. People love the sheep art in particular.
One visitor says, “In addition to looking at animals, we can enjoy the cute art installations too.”
She said, “The art is very well done, and my children were attracted to it right away.”
Shou Shan Zoo Director Chuang Hsuan-chih says that the zoo is also building aerial bridges that will link the different zones so that visitors can view the animals from above. He hopes the unique view will give visitors a new experience.
Kaoshiung’s Shou Shan Zoo welcomes visitors to enjoy the new art installations and other new features coming to the zoo.
