COVID-19: Taiwan reports two new imported cases
Taiwan announced two new imported cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

Taiwan reported two new imported cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. These new cases bring the total number of COVID-19 cases Taiwan has reported since the start of the pandemic up to 960.

The first new patient is a Nigerian long-term resident of Taiwan. He returned to Nigeria on January 8 in order to attend a funeral, and developed COVID-19 symptoms on January 18 while still in Nigeria. The symptoms eased after the man took medicine, and he was able to return to Taiwan on February 28, having tested negative for COVID-19 within three days of his departure.

However, on March 2, while in a quarantine hotel, the man began feeling unwell again. He also required medical attention due to an unrelated chronic illness, and so medical personnel tested him for COVID-19 again. The test has come back positive.

The second new patient is a Filipino migrant worker who arrived in Taiwan on February 9. He also tested negative for COVID-19 within three days of arriving in Taiwan. He has no symptoms of COVID-19, but tested positive after an additional test conducted after he completed his quarantine.
