Cherry blossom season is here, and what better place to view them than on the scenic mountain of Alishan? The destination offers not only a variety of blossoms to view amidst a backdrop of green forests but also a classic railway and a famous sunrise.
It’s cherry blossom season! Taiwan is home to over two dozen types of cherry blossoms. Many people are coming to one of the most scenic places of all to view them - Alishan.
One visitor says alot of people are taking photos of the nice cherry blossoms in this area.
Another says the backdrop of green with a splash of pink is really pretty. She also got to see the sunrise. It was worth coming for.
Visitors can also enjoy the famous Alishan railway - whether you want to hop on board for a ride or just take a photo of the classic rail cars that run amidst the lush forest.
Indigenous dancers kicked off Alishan’s cherry blossom season.
Alishan tour guide Hsiao Min-hsueh says the popular Yoshino cherry blossoms will be in full bloom at the end of March. The well-loved Yoshino cherry blossoms are from Japan and Taiwan has over a dozen varieties of its own that will be blooming through April 10. There will be a lot of special events throughout the season. It’s a great time to visit Alishan!
