The foreign ministry says it will continue working with the United States and Japan to safeguard democracy. That’s the word from Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Joanne Ou on Monday.
Ou’s comments came after Washington and Tokyo issued a joint statement following last week’s Security Consultative Committee in Tokyo. The statement emphasized the importance of peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and their “objections to China’s unlawful maritime claims and activities in the South China Sea.”
Ou said Taiwan will continue working closely with Washington, Tokyo and other like-minded countries to safeguard democratic values.
