Hospitals start offering COVID-19 vaccines to those traveling abroad
Taiwan has begun administering the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to those planning to travel abroad.

Hospitals across Taiwan have begun offering the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to those needing to travel abroad. As the vaccination campaign got underway Wednesday, 23 hospitals began administering the vaccines, but that number is set to expand to 31 hospitals in the near future.

Those looking to get vaccinated need to register online and pay anywhere from NT$500-NT$600 (US$18-US$21) out of pocket, depending on which hospital they go to. Registrations began Monday, and quickly filled up. In total, nearly 4000 people are registered to get their first dose of the vaccine this week.

The Central Epidemic Command Center says that 10,000 doses of the vaccine have been set aside for those with plans to travel abroad, and that it will consider giving hospitals more doses depending on demand.
