Foreign Minister Joseph Wu has announced that Taiwan will send 150 oxygen concentrators to India, most likely this weekend. The shipment comes amid a surge of COVID-19 cases in India that has left local hospitals short of oxygen.
Oxygen concentrators are machines that remove nitrogen from the air, leaving an oxygen-rich gas for medical uses.
Wu says the machines have been calibrated to work with India’s electricity system. He also says Taiwan is looking at Indian requests for further, related equipment.
