The city of Taoyuan in northern Taiwan is implementing four new measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan announced the new measures on Friday. Taoyuan is home to Taiwan’s main international airport, and the new measures come amid an outbreak of COVID-19 centered on pilots.
Masks will be made mandatory in eight types of indoor locations. In addition, people entering these indoor spaces will need to provide contact information, have their temperature taken, and clean their hands with rubbing alcohol. The size of Mother’s Day events is being limited, and citizens will be urged to avoid crowded areas and practice social distancing.
