The foreign ministry has asked India to give medical assistance to six Taiwanese representative office staff that have tested positive for COVID-19.
On Thursday, foreign ministry official Larry R.L. Tseng said that Indian hospitals have been stretched thin by an ongoing surge of COVID-19 cases in the country. However, he said that while Indian hospitals cannot treat the Taiwanese office staff, India is able to provide them with virtual medical consultations.
Tseng also said the foreign ministry is working to get office staff who wish to return to Taiwan back home.
