Spring is full swing, and with it comes the peak season for admiring Taiwan’s various species of flowers. But one particular variety has bloomed earlier than usual, and not where it’s usually expected.
Are you a flower fanatic? A blossom bro? A lily lover? Well, Taitung’s Jhihben Township is the place for you. It’s only May and the daylilies are already fully in bloom in Tienshan Farm. That’s two months earlier than in Taimali Township, which is known for the flowers.
One woman says she heard about the farm and couldn’t resist coming to take a look.
According to tradition, these daylilies can help you forget your worries. And standing in the spring sunshine, far from the hustle and bustle of the city, it isn’t hard to see why.
But the benefits don’t stop there. Tienshan Farm sells packets of dried flowers. They’re sweet and full of nutritional goodness. Agriculture Council official Hsu Hui-fei says the flowers contain lots of vitamins.
Good for the body, and good for the mind? It’s no surprise these daylilies have got people yearning for some flower power.
