Taiwan has reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases Taiwan has reported so far to 1,290.
The Central Epidemic Command Center says that 29 of these are domestic in origin, breaking the previous one-day record for domestically-transmitted cases in Taiwan. Twenty-two of the new cases can be traced back to three earlier clusters, but the source of infection for the other seven cases remains unknown. Four of the patients infected domestically are asymptomatic.
Of the five new imported cases Friday, two can be traced to Indonesia, while two originated in Paraguay, and one originated in Albania.
