The Central Epidemic Command Center says that senior citizens planning to move into long-term care facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic must first present negative PCR test results.
The center does not recommend anyone move into long term care centers while the country remains under a Level 3 COVID-19 alert.
However it says that if necessary, senior citizens can pay out of pocket for a PCR test. If the test comes back negative, they can move into their care facility after 14 days in isolation. They will then be moved into regular rooms if they do not develop any COVID-related symptoms.
Residents of care facilities who have been hospitalized will also need to present a negative self-paid PCR test before returning, though they will not have to undergo 14 days in isolation.
