The foreign ministry is calling on China to stop politicizing Taiwan’s acquisition of COVID-19 vaccines. That’s as Japan’s foreign minister says that Tokyo is considering giving vaccine doses to Taiwan.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said that China opposes any such move or any use of the COVID-19 pandemic to interfere in Chinese internal affairs.
On Tuesday, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Joanne Ou said that China has been interfering in Taiwan’s purchase of vaccines while making false claims to cause division in Taiwan society. She called on the Chinese government to stop using the pandemic for political purposes.
Ou said that Taiwan’s government is working to get COVID-19 vaccine doses delivered as soon as possible in order to save lives.
