COVID-19: Taiwan reports 511 cases, 38 deaths

Taiwan reported a total of 511 COVID-19 cases on Saturday, including 476 new domestic cases and 35 backlogged cases. They contracted the disease between May 15 - June 1.

The country also reported 38 more deaths from the virus, a single-day high. Those included 26 men and 12 women aged 30 and over. They were confirmed to have the virus between May 15 and June 2 and died between May 23 and June 2.  Of the deceased, more than 80% had chronic health issues.

Taoyuan City 16

Keelung City 13

Changhua County 11

Taichung City 9

Hsinchu County 7

Pingtung County 4

Nantou County 3

Kaohsiung City 3

Chiayi County 3

Hsinchu City 1

Yunlin County 1

Tainan City 1

Out of the 138 cases outside of Greater Taipei, a specific source of transmission is known for 121 cases, the source is unknown for 16, and one case is still under investigation.
