Taiwan’s regional trade office in Chicago plans to hold three more online events exploring areas of trade cooperation between Taiwan and the United States. The news on Sunday comes amid a push by the United States to work better with partner countries in key sectors like the semiconductor industry.
Trade Office Director General Johnson S. Chiang said on Sunday that the Taiwan-US Business Forum in the Midwest would hold three new events. The forum opened in March with panel discussions and speeches on the topics of global hi-tech supply chains, and food and agriculture.
The three upcoming events will bring together business leaders, academics, and public officials to discuss Taiwan’s role in key global industries. Discussions will cover a range of topics, including semiconductors, artificial intelligence and the automotive industry.
Chiang says the effects of the global pandemic mean close cooperation is more important than ever to ensure economic growth and prosperity.
The online events will take place on June 30, July 28 and August 17.
