Taiwan reported 76 new domestic cases of COVID-19, four imported cases and 10 deaths on Saturday.
Health Minister Chen Shih-chung said that the number of cases is seeing a steady downward trend and the outbreak is being contained. There are only four cities that saw new cases on Saturday, the lowest number since the recent outbreak began on May 15.
Most of the new cases are related to recent outbreaks at markets. Officials have been conducting mass testing at the three markets which have seen a recent outbreak. They have completed contact tracing and quarantine of all close contacts of cases related to the markets.
There are no new reported cases from the Delta variant cluster in Pingtung.

New Taipei City: 24
Taoyuan City: 3
Hsinchu County: 1
As for the source of the 76 local cases announced on Saturday, a specific source of transmission is known for 55 cases while the rest are being investigated.
The addition of 10 more deaths from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 686. Of the deceased, there were five men and five women aged between 50 and 100 years old.
The four imported cases were Taiwanese nationals traveling back from Japan, the UK, the US and Cambodia.
Of the cases that contracted COVID-19 between May 11 and July 1, 77.3% have recovered.
