Taiwan reported 37 new domestic cases of COVID-19, two imported cases and two deaths on Sunday. That was the lowest number of domestic cases since the soft lockdown began on May 15.
Regarding the possible lifting of Level 3 COVID alert restrictions after July 12, Health Minister Chen Shih-chung said officials are discussing this issue and could make a relevant announcement in the next few days.
Health Minister Chen Shih-chung said that night markets are now open for take out, but officials are asking people to not sample food, dine in or eat while walking. There will also be crowd control and registration at the entrances to the markets.

Taipei City: 18
New Taipei City: 11
Taoyuan City: 3
Changhua County: 3
Yilan County: 2
As for the source of the 37 local cases announced on Sunday, a specific source of transmission is known for 16 cases, unknown for three, and the rest are being investigated.
The addition of two more deaths from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 688. The deceased include a woman in her 70s and a man in his 80s who contracted the disease between May 18 and June 9.
The two imported cases were Taiwanese nationals traveling back from Indonesia and Cambodia.
Of the cases that contracted COVID-19 between May 11 and July 2, 79.3% have recovered.
