COVID-19 (07/07): Taiwan reports 39 local cases, nine deaths

Taiwan reported 39 new local cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, one imported case, and nine deaths.  

The Wednesday totals by city and county are as follows:  

Taipei City: 14

New Taipei City: 14

Taoyuan City: 11 

Twenty one of the patients whose cases were announced on Wednesday had tested positive while in quarantine or at the end of their quarantine period. 

The addition of nine more deaths from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 715. Of the deceased, there were four men and five women who contracted the disease between May 13 - June 27 and died between July 3 - July 5. The deceased were aged between 40 and 100. 

The imported case was a Taiwanese woman in her 40s who was returning from Thailand.
