Taiwan received 626,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday evening.
The vaccines were produced in Thailand, and shipped from the capital, Bangkok. This latest vaccine delivery is part of a ten million vaccine purchase agreement the government signed with AstraZeneca.
Premier Su Tseng-chang says that once this batch arrives, the total number of vaccines shipped into Taiwan will surpass seven million doses. Taiwan received its first batch of 117,000 AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine doses on March 3.
