A centralized system for booking COVID-19 vaccination appointments has officially gone online in all of Taiwan. That’s the word from Digital Minister Audrey Tang on Thursday.

The platform, developed by Tang’s team, originally opened only to residents of Kinmen and Penghu, two of Taiwan’s outlying island groups. After that trial opening went smoothly, the government decided to move forward with the rollout nationwide. As of 10:00am on Thursday, the system is now running on Taiwan’s main island as well.

Tang says people in priority groups eight, nine, and ten can register their interest in being vaccinated. These groups include adults aged 50 or over, along with adults aged 19 to 65 with serious health conditions. Tang says people who are eligible and willing to take an AstraZeneca shot will receive a text message from health authorities next week asking them to book an appointment.
