COVID-19 (07/09): Taiwan reports 36 more cases, 12 deaths

Taiwan reported 36 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. That includes 32 new domestic cases and four imported cases.

The addition of twelve more deaths from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 730. The deceased include eight men and four women. All but one of them had pre-existing conditions.  

Of the 32 new local cases announced on Friday, 17 were men and 15 were women. They began experiencing symptoms between June 30 and July 8. 

The Friday totals (by city/county) are as follows:  

New Taipei City: 19
Taipei City: 11
Taoyuan City: 2 

As for the source of the 32 local cases announced on Friday, a specific source of transmission is known for 14 cases, the source is unknown for one, and 17 cases are still under investigation. 
Taiwan also recorded four imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday. They include two travelers from the Czech Republic, one from Turkey, and one from the United States.
