Day care centers for senior citizens and people with disabilities are set to reopen in Taiwan. They’ve been closed for about two months in light of a nationwide COVID-19 outbreak.
The Central Epidemic Command Center said on Wednesday that at least 80% of the staff at these care centers will have to be vaccinated. The centers will also have to ensure that pandemic prevention measures are in place before they can reopen and resume service.
When returning to work, all staff who have not yet gotten their first jab at least 14 days prior to showing up will have to provide a negative rapid test result. They will then have to get tested weekly while Taiwan is still under a Level 3 COVID-19 alert.
Day care institutions will also need to abide by other pandemic prevention guidelines for wearing masks, social distancing, and disinfecting the premises. They will also need to have plans in place in the event that someone at the center is infected with COVID-19.
Meanwhile, people providing home care services must also have gotten a first jab at least 14 days prior to providing service.
