People travelling from Taiwan to the United Kingdom will no longer have to quarantine on arrival. That’s after the UK government updated its official travel advice on Wednesday.
Under UK guidelines, all countries and territories are classified as red, amber, or green, depending on the severity of the local COVID-19 outbreak.
On July 19 at 4 a.m., Taiwan will move from the amber list to the green list. The country joins 20 other countries and territories, including Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Singapore.
People travelling from green list countries do not need to quarantine on arrival in the UK, regardless of their vaccination status. However, travellers must take a COVID-19 test before departure, and book and pay for a test for their second day in the UK.
