Taiwan reported eight new domestic cases of COVID-19, four imported cases and one death on Saturday. This includes four cases discovered in quarantine.
Health Minister Chen Shih-chung said that the outbreak is being contained and officials will start preparing for the nation to go from Level 3 to Level 2 restrictions. At Level 2, many businesses can open with proper preventative measures. Only outdoor gatherings of over 500 and indoor gatherings of over 100 would be banned.

The one death reported was a man in his 60s who was confirmed with COVID-19 on May 22. The total number of deaths from the pandemic is now 764.
Taiwan also recorded four imported cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. They include three Taiwanese returning from the United Arab Emirates, the United States and Indonesia as well as a Hong Kong resident traveling from Nigeria.
