Public urged not to use herbal patches within 3 days of vaccine
A practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine is urging people to avoid using medicinal patches within three days of getting a COVID-19 vaccine, as this could cause inflammation.

A practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine is urging people to avoid using medicinal patches within three days of getting a COVID-19 vaccine, as this could cause inflammation.

These patches are known as San-fu patches in Taiwan. In lunar calendar, the term “San-fu” refers to the hottest period during the year. This period lasts 30 or 40 days, roughly from mid-July to mid-August.

A practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine applies herbal medicine on the back of his patient. The patches he uses are called San-fu Patches.

They aim to help drive out the coldness in the body, and the best times to apply them are on July 21, July 31, and August 10.

However, this Chinese medicine practitioner warns against using these patches within three days of getting a COVID-19 vaccine, as this could lead to inflammation.

Also, those with a fever or a sensitive skin as well as pregnant women and young children should avoid using the patches.
