Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says it has authorized the release of almost two million vaccine doses that arrived this month.
On July 15, Taiwan received a donation of 970,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses from Japan, as well as 560,000 doses preordered from AstraZeneca and 350,000 doses from Moderna. That made for a total delivery of 1.88 million doses.
On Thursday, Taiwan’s FDA said it has checked the batch numbers and carried out extensive randomized testing at its laboratories. It says all three shipments have passed testing, and will shortly go into circulation.
