There’s a park best known for its sedge-like grass with beautiful purple-pink flowers in Nantou County. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the tourist attraction has been closed for several months.
A local official said the park will reopen after restrictions are eased.
The perennial grass, native to North America, was introduced to Taiwan last year. The Taiwanese have given it a lovely nickname - Pink Love Grass - due to its feathery and cloud-like appearance.
A local farmer says the pretty color of the flowers does not fade when the flowers dry out. He is also planning to work with art teachers to use the dried flowers in woven art.
