COVID-19 (07/27): Taiwan reports 16 local cases, one death

Taiwan reported 16 new domestic cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. There was also one imported case and one death reported.

The breakdown by city and county of the cases reported on Tuesday are as follows:

Taoyuan City: 6

Taipei City: 5

New Taipei City: 4

Hsinchu County: 1

 

The one death reported on Tuesday was a man in his 70s who had a history of chronic conditions. He was confirmed with COVID-19 on May 31. 

Taiwan also recorded one imported case of COVID-19 on Tuesday, a Taiwanese child returning from the United States.


Taiwan has seen a total of 15,599 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 787 deaths.

Of the cases contracted between May 11 - July 25, 88.1% have recovered.
