Law enforcement agencies are investigating a hack into the popular messaging app LINE in Taiwan. That was the word from LINE Company on Wednesday.

The company said that users in Taiwan had been hacked, and that it reported this to local law enforcement authorities as soon as this was discovered.

LINE has notified victims of the attack. The Liberty Times says that LINE found that over 100 influential politicians were targeted, though the investigation found that none of them were Cabinet officials.

The Liberty Times also says that the Letter Sealing encryption function was turned off on the victims’ accounts. It says the precision of the attack seems to point to professional hackers, and that the hackers might have used Pegasus spyware in this operation.

LINE is a popular messaging app used in Taiwan for both personal and professional communication. LINE has advised users to make sure that their Letter Sealing function is turned on to prevent such attacks.
