Google Taiwan launches startup incubator
Google Taiwan says that the incubator project will be a key part of its larger Smart Taiwan initiative to bring about extensive digital transformation in the country.

Google’s Taiwan office is launching a new startup incubator project, designed to bring Taiwanese businesses to the world stage. The project is the fruit of a collaboration between Google, the National Development Council, startup accelerator Appworks, and the National Taiwan University Corporate Accelerator Program.

Google Taiwan says that the incubator project will be a key part of its larger Smart Taiwan initiative to bring about extensive digital transformation in the country. The incubator project will provide industry and operational know-how to entrepreneurs through lecture series and a mentorship program.

Managing Director of Sales and Operations Tina Lin says Taiwan is full of talent in the fields of science and technology. She says Google hopes not only to help businesses take root in Taiwan, but also to expand to foreign markets.

National Development Council official Chan Fang-kuan says Taiwan is a fertile environment for business because of its diverse, tolerant, and free society. He says he hopes that the Google incubator program will help Taiwanese businesses shine on the world stage.
