The foreign ministry has thanked the US for a string of recent pro-Taiwan legislation.
These include a recent spending bill passed by the House of Representatives that would prevent the State Department from making, buying, or displaying maps that show Taiwan as a part of China. Another recent example is the EAGLE Act, which calls for discussions on including the word “Taiwan” in the official name of Taiwan’s representative office in the US. The EAGLE Act passed the US House of Representatives’ foreign affairs committee in July.
The foreign ministry says it will continue deepening Taiwan’s cooperative partnership with the US.
