COVID-19 (08/04): Taiwan reports 21 more cases, no deaths

Taiwan reported 21 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. That includes 20 new domestic cases and one imported case. There were no deaths reported.

Of the 20 new local cases announced on Wednesday, 16 tested positive while in quarantine. Nine were men and eleven were women. They began experiencing symptoms between July 24 and August 3.

The Wednesday totals (by city/county) are as follows: 

New Taipei City: 14

Taipei City: 5

Taoyuan City: 1

As for the source of the 20 local cases announced on Wednesday, a specific source of transmission is known for 16 cases, and the source is unknown for four.

Taiwan also recorded one imported case of COVID-19 on Wednesday, a student from Japan.

Taiwan has seen 15,742 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 791 related deaths.

Of the people who contracted COVID-19 between May 11 to August 2, 89.3% have recovered.
