The critically acclaimed 1986 Taiwanese film "Terrorizers" has been chosen for the Asian American International Film Festival (AIFF) in New York. This is the AIFF's 44th edition. The committee also selected six other Taiwanese films.
These seven films have been submitted under the name Taiwan: Lost and Found. The festival is scheduled for November 11th, and audiences will also be able to view selections online.
"Terrorizers" follows the lives of four main characters, whose lives randomly cross in Taipei. They include a married couple on the edge of divorce, an amateur photographer, and a defiant teenager. Festival critics have chosen this film because of how it explores people losing and finding themselves in relationships with others.
Critics have also chosen "Taipei Suicide Story", about the friendship beween a customer and a clerk. In addition, they have selected "Mickey on the Road", a film about two girls searching for lost fathers and lovers.
Critics have already nominated these films for many international awards, and the directors hope that their works will continue to shine at AIFF in the fall.
