Taiwan reported 16 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. They include twelve new domestic cases and four imported cases.
The addition of two more deaths from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 816. The deceased include two men who had pre-existing conditions.
Of the twelve new local cases announced on Wednesday, five tested positive while in quarantine. Nine were men and three were women. They began experiencing symptoms between August 2 and 10.
As for the source of the twelve local cases announced on Wednesday, a specific source of transmission is known for seven cases, the source is unknown for three, and two cases are still under investigation.
Taiwan also recorded four imported cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. They include travelers from the Netherlands, Indonesia, and the UK.
