COVID-19 (08/13): Taiwan reports 18 more cases, 2 deaths
Of the four new local cases announced on Friday,  two were men and two were women.

Taiwan reported 18 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday. That includes four new domestic cases and 14 imported cases. 

The addition of two more deaths from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 819. Both the deceased were men with pre-existing health conditions.

Of the four new local cases announced on Friday, two were men and two were women. Three tested positive while in quarantine. The new local cases began experiencing symptoms between August 7 and August 9.

Taipei City: 2
New Taipei City: 2

As for the source of the four local cases announced on Friday, a specific source of transmission is known for three cases, and the source is unknown for one.

Taiwan also recorded 14 imported cases of COVID-19 on Friday. They include travelers from the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Cambodia, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Thailand.
