Two Taiwanese cabinet ministers are taking part in intergovernmental meetings under the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.

Taiwan’s foreign ministry says Health Minister Chen Shih-chung will attend the 2021 APEC High Level Meeting on Health and the Economy. Meanwhile, Agriculture Minister Chen Chi-chung took part in the Food Security Ministers' Meeting on Thursday.

Taiwan will also have representatives at the Third Senior Officials’ Meeting, set to take place between August 31 and September 3. The foreign ministry says the meeting will discuss trade liberalization, measures to achieve sustainable growth, and initiatives to promote innovation and digitalization.

Taiwan is one of 21 formal member economies in the organization, which also includes China, the United States, Japan, and Australia.
