Taiwan reported one new local case of COVID-19 on Tuesday. The country also reported five more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
The addition of one more death from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 829. The deceased was a woman in her eighties with pre-existing health conditions.
The one new local case announced on Tuesday was a man who tested positive outside of quarantine. Authorities have identified and placed one family member in home isolation as a close contact of the confirmed case.

Taiwan also recorded five imported cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. They include travelers from Japan, India and Turkey.
