Taiwan reported two new local cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. The country also reported six more imported cases among people arriving in Taiwan.
The addition of two more deaths from the virus brings the death toll from the beginning of the pandemic to 832. The deceased were men in their seventies and eighties with long-term health conditions.
Of the two new local cases announced on Thursday, one was a man and the other was a woman. Both tested positive while in quarantine. They began experiencing symptoms on August 17 and August 25.

Taiwan also recorded six imported cases of COVID-19 on Thursday. They include travelers from the United States, Japan and China.
